Maths

In maths we follow a mastery approach to teaching and learning, believing there should not be a ceiling to learning. We have adopted the White Rose Scheme, which has a knowledge rich and thoughtfully sequenced ideology behind it. Children are encouraged to develop their fluency and vocabulary by learning essential mathematical facts which can be applied to a variety of scenarios. We encourage children to use a variety of equipment and methods such as Numicon and Bar Modelling. By the time our children leave us we hope Deddington pupils are confident, independent and enthusiastic mathematicians that are well equipped to embrace the Ks3 curriculum and beyond.
