Inspire, Believe, Achieve

Vision In Action

In our school we always think of how we can serve and help others; putting our school values into action. Older pupils are play leaders and buddies for younger pupils; our pastoral groups meet once a term too with a range of ages coming together to support each other. Our school councils (including Eco Council, Fairtrade Group and Worship Group) meet regularly to support school leadership and improvement.

The School Council, in discussion with class groups, decide on a range of charities to support over the course of the year and plan events for the whole school. Some of the charities we have supported have included:

  • Banbury Food Bank though our Harvest Appeal
  • Poppy sales for The Royal British Legion.
  • Christian Aid week
  • Comic and Sports Relief, alternating with Children in Need
  • Katherine House Hospice
  • Santa Fun Run/ Dance for Mental Elf!
  • Young Minds Hello Yellow
  • Fairtrade

Our Deddington Eco Council  like to make sure we do lots of recycling in school and ask you to help us by recycling :

Clothes – at least twice a year we send bags home for you to fill and return to school

Batteries – we have a battery tube in school so that you can deposit your old batteries easily..

Spectacles – we are going to start supporting our church in collecting old pairs of spectacles.

Paper, cardboard and newspapers – each class has a blue bin for recycling both paper and cardboard.

Plastic – in the blue bin.Tins – in the blue bin.

Food – cooked and raw food can be put in the brown composting bins.

Our active school choir currently has 38 members and has actively supported the Deddington Farmer's Market at Christmas, as well as visiting Featherton House to sing for the elderly residents at Christmas time.

They also perform at the school summer fete and have been part of the Oxfordshire County Music Schools Big Summer and Christmas sing.
