Music
Our new and exciting music curriculum is shaped by our school vision, which aims to enable all children, regardless of background, ability and additional needs, to flourish to become the very best version of themselves they can possibly be.
We use the Charanga Musical School curriculum in KS1 and KS2. This carefully sequenced scheme promotes an integrated, practical, exploratory and child-led approach to musical learning. Children will have opportunity to learn how to play chime bars, TOOT flutes and the ukulele in class lesson, which are led by class teachers this year.By the time children leave school they will have developed their knowledge and skills in listening, appraising, singing, composing, improvising and performing within a broad and interesting variety of musical styles.
We also offer group or individual instrumental lessons taught by staff from OCMS. If anyone is interested the learning an instrument, please be directed to the link below, where you can register your interest.
After school/lunchtime choirs and Musical Theatre sessions allow children of all ages and abilities to mix together and perform.
We are very proud of our musical achievements at Deddington. We welcome parents to our annual music concert in the church, as well as end of year whole school productions and Key Stage Nativity performances.
