History

We have recently adopted the PKC History curriculum because it is carefully sequenced, knowledge-rich and has vocabulary at its heart. 

By the time children leave Deddington, we want our pupils to know a range of key historical events, dates and people in the past as well as substantive concepts such as empire, monarchy and civil war whilst being able to use a range of historical sources and concepts to make historical deductions.  We believe this will result in happy, engaged and challenged children who are confident and eager to talk about History and understand how it relates to life in the modern world.  

Educational visits and visitors enhance our children’s learning by bringing the past to life and equipping them with local, national and global historical understanding to enable them to begin to formulate their own viewpoints and perspectives of the world.
