Fairtrade

Do you recognise our staff Fairtrade bananas celebrating FTFN 2021?!

22nd February to 7th  March 2021 is Fairtrade Fortnight

‘Climate, Fairtrade and you’ is the title of this year’s Fairtrade Fortnight resources for schools as part of the wider campaign to ‘Choose the world you want’…….

For two weeks each year at the end of February and start of March, as a Fairtrade School, Deddington Primary shares stories of the people who grow our food and drinks, mine our gold and who grow the cotton in our clothes. We think about how we can help the producers, people who are often exploited and underpaid.

This year Fairtrade Fortnight will feel very different. The COVID-19 pandemic has shown us more than ever how interconnected we are globally. This interconnection is at the very heart of the Fairtrade message and is where your role begins. You can be a part of the Fairtrade movement and you have the power to drive long-term change, not only with your shopping choices but with your support in spreading the message. We have to do things a little differently this year -so there will be no cake sale or Fairtrade Day, but you can take up the challenge to purchase some items with the Fairtrade Mark when you do your weekly shop. All classes will also be directed to online Fairtrade learning -don’t forget to post pictures on TEAMS too so we can share how you are taking part in Fairtrade Fortnight.
