In our school we always think of how we can serve and help others; putting our school values into action. Older pupils are play leaders and buddies for younger pupils; our pastoral groups meet once a term too with a range of ages coming together to support each other. Our school councils (including Energizers, Fairtrade Group and Worship Group) meet regularly to support school leadership and improvement.
The School Council decides on a range of charities to support over the course of the year and plan events for the whole school. Some of the charities we have supported have included:
We have now achieved the highest of the three Fairtrade school awards. This is the FairActive award. This award means our school has fully embedded Fairtrade into our daily life and work to raise awareness of Fairtrade in our local community.
In addition to this Fairtrade Group raise money for Traidcraft Exchange working alongside Deddington Fairtraders. During Fairtrade Fortnight 2020, the school Fairtrade Group organised a raffle, non-uniform day and a cake sale. We were delighted to help change lives by raising £300 for Traidcraft Exchange.Find our more about being a Fairtrade school at: schools.fairtrade.org.uk or for home learning videos and activities see the direct link in our 'learning links' section.
